The Texas Library Association is introducing a new stipend program for individuals working with youth in libraries.  Named in memory of Vivian Greenfield by her family, the $1,500 scholarship is to provide funding for an educational endeavor reinforcing work with youth.  This can include, but is not limited to,

*professional development activities (taking a course or attending a conference);
*implementing a new idea in the workplace; or
*performing a study, etc.
Applicants may be considered for renewal one time (must reappy each year).  Applicants must reside in Texas; be a TLA member in good standing; and must write a goals statement outlining a desired educational endeavor revolving around youth services.

The TLA Scholarship and Research Committee has extended the deadline to April 10.  Application forms may be found on the TLA website at http://www.txla.org/html/awards/scholar/scholapp.html
