Subject: From TLA - please share with your legal counsel

Please share this announcement with your library’s legal counsel -

*********************************************************

In 2005, thirty-four attempts to ban materials in Texas public libraries were reported – the actual number is estimated to be more than double. When your city or county asks you to respond to such a challenge, will you know how to respond?

Learn these answers and more at Lawyers for Libraries, a one-day institute to be held in Houston, Texas on April 25, 2006.

Instructors will include several attorneys who have argued cases before the United States Supreme Court.

  • This seminar is a preconference workshop at the Texas Library Association’s 2006 Annual Conference. The course normally costs $395, but is open to Texas attorneys and TLA members for only $250 per person.
  • The event carries 6 hours of Continuing Legal Education Credit.
