Monique alerted me to an organization whose web site can help your patrons with their Medicare Part D questions. Several locations, including the Round Rock Public Library, are offering one-on-one help sponsored by the National Council on the Aging.

To find the locations in your area, go to the NCOA website at: www.ncoa.org

Click on “My Medicare Matters” on the right.

On the next screen, click on “Get personalized help” on the left.

On the next screen, look under the heading, “Find an Event” and put in your zip code. Click on the down arrow to indicate how many miles you (or a patron) would be willing to drive to go to a personalized help event. Click on the down arrow next to “Search events for” and put in “The next 30 days” to get the maximum number of upcoming events.

In addition to Round Rock, sessions are scheduled in Lockhart, Wimberley, Austin, and locations outside our system boundaries that may be closer to your patrons (Kerrville, Dallas, etc.)

The site also has a questionnaire to get answers about applying.

Library people are smart, but we cannot answer Medicare questions any more than we can answer tax form questions. J

My thanks to Monique for this timely information.

Laurie
