Friends--
I visited Bremond
recently and wanted to pass on a great idea from them.
They get monetary
donations each month for their Memorial Fund. When a citizen dies they let
the family know that a memorial can be given to the library in this person's
name. (Bremond is small enough to have this close tie with library and
community). They have a beautiful memorial book for anyone to see at any
time. Inside you'll find a lovely page for each donation with the
words: "A Memorial Tribute to the Bremond Public Library in loving memory
of _____________ (date), Given by: ________________ (list of donors). They
use software that prints a pretty page with a volunteer keeping up with the
whole program. This is at the same time a private and public
_expression_ of affection that benefits the library greatly.
Let me know and I'll
send you a copy of a sample page plus their donations record
keeping.
