In the afternoon, after the presentation by Barbara Rhodes of NETLS, there will be a presentation on Plinkit by Eduardo Loera, Library Technology Consultant, and Len Borowski, Linux System Administrator, of TSLAC.

Plinkit, which stands for Public Library Interface Kit (http://www.plinkit.org), is an open-source Web authoring system designed specifically for public libraries that makes it simple for library staff to create and maintain a dynamic, professional-looking website for their library without requiring any knowledge of HTML.

TSLAC has adopted Plinkit and plans to roll it out to Texas public libraries later this fall.  TSLAC will target public libraries who either have no websites (currently 17 out of 76 CTLS member libraries) or very modest ones (you know who you are)They plan to physically host the library websites and provide technical support at no cost to member libraries.
