D. Farmer International Fellowship was created by the Forty-first Legislature with the purpose of building friendship and goodwill between the state of Texas and Mexico. The fellowship provides financial support to conduct research, field research, or studies in Mexico or to undertake graduate studies or research activities at the University of Texas at Austin. This fellowship is limited to applicants from Mexico or the state of Texas. Mexican citizens who are applying to UT Austin Eligibility: Applicants from Mexico who have graduated from or who have had two years at a Mexican university. Applicants must be nominated by the administration of the home university. Stipend: Eligible for in-state tuition; monthly stipend for nine months. Dollar amount depends on availability of funds. Applications are accepted from Mexican citizens who are pursuing any academic major at the graduate level at the University of Texas at Austin. This scholarship was established in 1991 to honor the visit of the President of Mexico to the University. It is intended to support research on any topic which will be incorporated into a thesis, policy report, or dissertation submitted in partial fulfillment of the requirements for a graduate degree. Applications should comprise: * one to two pages (maximum) curriculum vitae * a current transcript of studies at the University of Texas at Austin * two letters of recommendation from faculty members who have taught the student at the University of Texas. The letters should be sealed with three referees signature across the back of the envelope on the seal * a brief statement (maximum two pages,single-spaced) outlining the specific ways in which the scholarship would further the student research, taking care to specify directly how the work will be incorporated into a final product (chapter, research paper, core date for a policy report, etc.). Avoid broad statements such as part of a dissertation or a paper submitted as part of the Ph.D. degree.
