Houston author, Elaine Scott will be in Austin on February 23 for another event and asked me to let local schools and libraries know that she could do an author visit at a reduced rate since she will already be here. That's a Friday and she could do something anytime that day or could come in for a Thursday afternoon event. Elaine is a fabulous non-fiction author who writes for kids in upper elementary and middle school. Her latest book, Poles Apart, is science and geography based, looking at both the North and South Poles. Previous books deal with the space shuttle, comics, special effects in movies, and friendship.
