The Taylor Public Library will close on March 1st, hopefully to open by March 26th. First, we will conduct our annual inventory of the collection, which always takes a couple of days at least. Then we will be packing up and moving into our new Library building at 801 Vance Street, Taylor. The phone numbers will remain all the same. Berger Transfer, from Austin, will come in and move the book collection for us. However, we have all sorts of other things to box up and move ourselves, as well as move our computer lab, our Archives and other equipment. Then we have to make everything work. The number of delays on furniture installations, fixes to the building, etc. seems to grow daily. I sincerely hope that we can be open before the end of March. Please stay tuned for announcements on a Grand Opening celebration. I will be a complete wreck by then, I am sure, and will be accepting donations of chocolate. Since the new Taylor Public Library is opening with all new shelving and furnishings, all of the old items will be sold via open bids, to be announced in April. I will forward that announcement to this list. Items to be sold include wooden 82" shelving, single & double sided, wooden 42" shelving, mostly double sided, reading tables, chairs, desks, spin racks, outside bookdrop, 3M security gate (single aisle, older model, works great!) and display cabinets, and other things I've overlooked. Unfortunately, I cannot put anything aside for special requests & I cannot give anything away. Thanks!
