Subject: [tlamembers] It's Now or Never for School Library Databases--We
Need Your Help TODAY!
Importance: High

Dear Library Supporters

The legislative budget committee is about to make a decision on funding
school library databases. Please, please take five minutes to contact
elected officials as soon as possible (this afternoon if you can). We need
them to fund school library databases for the next two years.

Send an email to [EMAIL PROTECTED];
[EMAIL PROTECTED]; [EMAIL PROTECTED]; and
[EMAIL PROTECTED] We need all of you to absolutely blitz
these offices with messages about the databases.

Tell them: Texas school children need equitable access to online learning
materials. We need the budget conference committee to appropriate $2.5
million/year for school library databases in the TEA budget. The House
recommended this funding level in Article XI of the Appropriations Bill.
Now, we need that recommendation to be included as part of the TEA budget in
Article III.

Explain why school library databases are essential!

We're in the final stretch here, and nothing short of a massive effort from
library supporters throughout the state will make this funding happen. We
need your voice today!

Thanks,

Gloria
