Austin, Texas 78704 For the first time in 27 years the Hispanic Genealogy and History Conference will be held in Austin September 13-16 at the Embassy Suites 5901 N. IH 35 and Hi 290. Registration begins at 4pm on Thursday and Friday at 9am. Guest speakers include Dr J.F. de la Teja, official State Historian, Dr Andres Tijerina, Texas History Professor, Austin Community College, John P. Schmal, Historian, Genealogist, and Lecturer who recently published The Dominguez Family: A Mexican-American Journey. Also Marco Portales, Professor of English and author of Latino Sun Rising and much, much more. There will be 22 workshops on Genealogy and History on Friday and Saturday with historical tours to the Benson, the Barker and the U.T. Library.
