The TALL Institute provides instruction in library leadership and management for mid-career members of the Texas Library Association, both degreed and non-degreed. Nationally-known facilitators Maureen Sullivan and Jack Siggins will be joined by six mentors from the Texas library community to teach advanced skills in the areas of ●Leadership in Libraries Today ●Understanding Your Work, Leadership, and Communication Styles ●Values and Ethics ●Managing Differences & Fostering Collaboration ●Risk Taking ●Creating a Culture of Commitment, High Performance, and Shared Vision The institute will be held June 8-12, 2008, at the Highland Lakes Camp (www. highlandlakescamp.org <http://www.highlandlakescamp.org/> ), approximately 35 miles west of Austin on the shores of Lake Travis. Participants will stay onsite in dormitory rooms and meals are included in the cost of the institute. Applicants will be selected by reviewers from the TLA Leadership Development Committee based on demonstrations of leadership, community service, and commitment to the library profession as reported on the TALL Texans application form.
