Subject: [syscon-tx] new software available for financial literacy
programsfor public libraries

TechSoup recently announced new software that is available to public
libraries through the Intuit Financial Literacy Training program. This
could be a great opportunity for libraries that are looking to partner with
community agencies that focus on life skills development, such as financial
literacy. Libraries can choose 25 or 100-license packs of software - it is
software-only, no manuals or boxes come with the product, although a PDF
version of the user manual is available. The software can be redistributed
to students.

There is an administrative fee with every order of software and an annual
limit on ordering. In addition, there are program restrictions that the
library must meet to receive the donation.

I have included a short description of the program from the TechSoup
website:

Intuit Financial Literacy Training Program

The Intuit Financial Literacy Training Program offers products for
organizations that provide training in personal financial literacy or small
business development.

Quicken and QuickBooks small business accounting software is available in
bundles of 25 or 100. Qualifying organizations may request as many bundles
of available stock as necessary to support their training programs. Products
may be provided to students for their own use. For more details on
eligibility requirements, see the Intuit Financial Literacy Training Program
restrictions.
