Friends - Check out the new Texas Bluebonnet Award Reader's Theater scripts at http://txla.org/groups/tba/readers.html. It's always good to have a few of these in your tool kit. They are fun, encourage reading and are great last-minute time-fillers when a speaker runs late (!)

Go to the TBA homepage and click on the link for Current Nominees. The books that the TBA Program Committee have completed thus far are Crossing Bok Chitto, Gabriel's Horses, Lawn Boy, Tall Tales, and Toys Go Out. If you have not done Readers' Theater with your patrons I strongly encourage you to give it a try. This activity has many positive influences: it encourages the students to read, it increases fluency in their reading, and very importantly the children have a great time participating. Anytime one can make learning fun it needs to be done. There will be several emails coming from me between now and conference. There are some exciting things about to happen with TBA. Keep your eyes open for my emails.
