Good Friday Morning! The Alamo Drafthouse is having this event to support
the Friends of the Austin Public Library and kick off Banned Book Week… it
sounds like tons of fun so I wanted to pass it on :-)

PKWproductions ignites their fall season with François Truffaut's film based
on Ray Bradbury's classic novel "Fahrenheit 451". This special "Music and a
Movie" event will usher in national Banned Books Week, which takes place the
last week of September and celebrates the freedom of expression, raises
awareness about the history of censorship, and emphasizes the importance of
making all unorthodox or unpopular viewpoints available to all who wish to
read them. The screening of the 1966 dystopian science fiction film will
feature an introductory concert by composer/bassist P.Kellach Waddle and
cellist Paul Gronquist.

The concert before the showing will consist of three of the eight original
works composed by P.Kellach Waddle for Banned Books Week. P.Kellach Waddle
himself will perform a bass sonata on Fitzgerald's "The Great Gatsby," Paul
Gronquist will perform a cello sonata on D.H. Lawrence's "Lady Chatterley's
Lover," and together they will perform a duet for cello and bass based on a
poem from Walt Whitman's "Leaves Of Grass." For one night only, join
PKWproductions for a celebration honoring some of history's most influential
- and once-challenged - literary masterpieces at this banned books "Music
and a Movie" premiere! PKWproductions will donate 15% of the evening's
proceeds to Friends of the Austin Public Library.
