I am one of the lucky ones who was awarded the Picturing America display. I thought I would comment on a few things because the display is a little different than what I expected - still FANTASTIC but different. The display is 20 double-sided laminated, posters that have pre-punched holes on them ready for display (a total of 40 reproductions). Originally, when I applied, I was under the impression that all 40 reproductions would be able to be displayed all at the same time; however, some of the posters are printed landscape on one side and portrait on the other. This has been my one and only complaint about the display - but it's only a complaint because I was hoping to be able to hang them in a manner that my patrons wouldn't have to come back at a later time to view the other side of the posters. I encourage you all to apply for the display - it's a wonderful addition to any library. Plus, the posters are yours too keep forever and ever! 8) Marilu Chavez Children and Young Adult Services Andrews County Library Andrews, Texas 432.523.9819 [EMAIL PROTECTED] -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Myra Zatopek Sent: Tuesday, September 30, 2008 8:43 PM To: GrantsTX Cc: SYSCON; TXSchoolLib; [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: [slm] Picturing America due Oct. 31 Picturing America DEADLINE: October 31, 2008 Dear Librarian: The National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) and the American Library Association (ALA) Public Programs Office invite you to apply for Picturing America, an NEH initiative to bring some of the nation's greatest works of art into school classrooms and public libraries.
