> The Texas State Library & Archives Commission requests your assistance
in describing the benefits to Texans of the Texas Library Systems grant
program.  We have launched a survey that asks you to answer how the
consulting advice and information provided through system staff have
helped you to do your job better and how this has benefited your
patrons.  We expect that the survey will take less than 30 minutes to
complete.

> The Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) is the federal
agency that provides funding for the Texas Library Systems grant program
through the Library Services & Technology Act (LSTA).  IMLS has asked
that we capture data describing the outcomes of grant-funded programs
that they can use in support of funding requests for the LSTA program
and to show the benefit to citizens of the use of these funds.

> We are launching the survey this year to augment our efforts in
collecting information on other grant-funded activities, such as
continuing education workshops and the Technical Assistance Negotiated
Grant (TANG) program.  This information will be included in our annual
report to IMLS that the Commission is required to file.  We appreciate
