Hi everyone, I'm pleased to announce that another SLM workshop is upcoming for Spring. This workshop is the 3rd in our series and is on the topic of collection development. Jeanette Larson will be teaching. Here are the locations and dates: Fort Bend County Library, Richmond, February 26-27 Boerne Public Library, March 5-6 Abilene Public Library, March 9-10 Lubbock Public Library, March 11-12 Lewisville Public Library, March 16-17 Pharr Memorial Library, April 23-24 The date in the Central Texas area is still outstanding because of some scheduling conflicts but will be added very shortly. It will take place towards the end of April. I will send another announcement when that date is added next week. Please also note that SLM II: Advanced Management will not be offered at this time due to LSTA funding restrictions. In the future, if we can no longer fund general management training with federal dollars, we will change this workshop in the series to managing Children's and Youth Services. This topic is the most asked for in terms of adding content to the SLM Program. Should funds not be available to provide an advanced management workshop by Fall of 2009, we will move ahead with SLM II: Children's & Youth Services and continue to evaluate this aspect of the program as we move through this round of five workshops.
