Dear Librarians,

Thank you to all who completed the survey and voted for a theme for the
2011 Texas Reading Club.  A total of 363 librarians participated in the
survey.  Based on your votes, the artwork and manual programs for the
2011 Texas Reading Club will be developed to support the theme, "Dig Up
a Good Book".  Here is a summary of the survey results.

1) Dig Up a Good Book - 171 votes (47.11%) 
        Manual Program Topics May Include: Archeology, dinosaurs,
trucks, excavation, fossils, buried treasure, discovery, trucks and
construction, animals that dig, gardening, genealogy/family history,
historical fiction

2) Wish Upon a Book -  73 votes (20.11%) 
        Manual Program Topics May Include: Fantasy, fairy fales,
fractured fairy fales, folktales, castles, knights, fiction, dreams,
goals, aspirations, astronomy, space

3) Laugh Out Loud! -  63 votes (17.36%)
        Manual Program Topics May Include: Silly stories & songs, humor,
jokes, riddles, fractured fairy tales, Jack tales, humorous folk tales,
trickster tales, fun, entertainment

4) Happily Ever After - 46 votes (12.67%)
        Manual Program Topics May Include: Fantasy, fairy tales,
fractured fairy tales, dragons, mythical creatures, harmony, safety,
joy, fiction with a happy ending 

Please know that the Texas State Library and the TLA Texas Reading Club
Advisory Committee will consider all of your comments in planning future
Texas Reading Clubs.   Again, thank you so much for completing the
