Just when we think we have gotten past the annual tax forms problem, along comes something new. Our colleagues at the Austin Public Library informed us that many employers are not providing paper copies of an employee's W-2 form. Employees are directed to go to the library to print out their W-2. Some may have incomplete information, making it impossible for them to access their form.
Employers are supposed to give employees the URL for the site: www.w2express.com <http://www.w2express.com/> and the Employer Identification Number (EIN) to access their personal W-2. Wal-Mart is one of the employers doing this, so expect a few patrons to show up asking for help if you have a Wal-Mart in your community. Note that this is not a government website. It is a company that provides financial services to employers. For more information, go to: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20080124124849AAxP9Np.
