Our patron counter comes with the security gates. Previously we used
Check Point and now we have the 3M RFID security gates. I understand
that 3M now owns Check Point as well. Our previous Check Point counter
had a voice message that you can create to warn patrons when materials
were not checked out. Both counters work fine for us. They record the
number each time when a person walks through the gate. That means you
have to divide the number by 2 for going in and out. One time after
division we had an odd number. We decided that it could be a mom walk
in with a child but put him in her arm when she left.

Thanks

Subject: door/people counter

I am researching a door/people counter for the new library. I would
like to know what libraries are using and their pros and cons and
suggestions.

Thanks very much,

Ann
