We understand that Austin Public has received two Texas Book Festival
Grants: One for augmenting our Western Genre collections at the Manchaca
Road Branch Library and one for purchase of Southwestern Art materials
for our Pleasant Hill Branch Library. I haven't seen the letters yet,
but they are apparently in the mail!

We are in the middle of working on implementation of the Celebrate Urban
Birds grant at the Windsor Park Branch Library offered by the Cornell
University Ornithology Laboratory. Take a fun look at their very vibrant
website and gather some program ideas for yourself!

The Austin History Center is implementing the Humanities Texas Grant
Preserving the Voices of Austin and Travis County Elderly Mexican
Americans: An Oral History Project and is experiencing a tremendous
response for the call to conduct oral histories with people 65 years and
older during Older Americans Month in May!

All the best, Sue
