Our friend Gene Crick, who has the ear of the FCC and serves on one of
its committees, has asked a question of CTLS members. If you can send
him any thoughts, that would be helpful.

Conversely, thoughts on the frustration of not having it would be
helpful as well.

Thanks!
Laurie

Subject: Re: [ctls-l] stimulus package: broadband exemplars

>>Broadband Stimulus Package:

The FCC has asked me to recommend compelling examples to
illustrate the value and importance of broadband availability. Can any
of
our CTLS family think of a project or program that clearly demonstrates
positive impact of broadband access on a local neighborhood or
community?

Perhaps you know of some rural, urban or tribal community where
broadband
is bringing measurable benefits and advantages, compared to prior times
or
similar areas without broadband. Could be economic, social,
educational,
healthcare... or any other "success story" that dramatizes the
difference
between communities and people who "have" and "have not" broadband
access.

We're looking for tangible, easy-to-understand (media-genic) examples
which can help supporters explain why national broadband development is
important to our future. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks,
Gene Crick
