The Michael L. Printz Award is awarded by the Young Adult Library
Services Association, a division of the American Library Association, to
a book that exemplifies literary excellence in young adult literature.
Books are chosen from those that were published in the United States in
the previous year, but authors do not have to be United States
residents.

In celebration and exploration of the Printz experience, the Austin
Public Library Literature Committee will host a Mock Printz Discussion
on Monday morning, January 11, 2010 at the Manchaca Road Branch
<http://www.austinlibrary.com/apllocations.cfm?acronym=amr> . Eight

definitions, and criteria. The discussion group will vote for a winner
and select Honor books.
