Dear TexShare Member Libraries, We are pleased to announce that the Texas State Library and Archives Commission has approved the following appointment to the TexShare Advisory Board, with the term beginning September 1, 2009. Board members are appointed to 3-year terms, with terms staggered so that only a portion of the Board "turns over" each year. The new roster is up on the TexShare Web site at: http://www.texshare.edu/memberinfo/advisoryboard/advisory2009.html Private university representative: Alice Specht, Dean of University Libraries at Hardin-Simmons University. Ms. Specht is very active in the Texas Library Association, currently serving on the Executive Board, is a member of the Legislative Committee, and served as a member of the steering committee for Transforming Texas Libraries. She was a founding member of the Texas Independent College and University Libraries, and served on the administrative council of the Abilene Library Consortium. She has also served on TSLAC's Library System Act Board, as well as served many years on the TexShare Education Services Working Group including acting as Chair. Term to expire August 31, 2012.
