We have a lot of patrons who are often looking for documentary DVDs, so we get a lot of mileage out of our PBS series DVDs, BBC series DVDs, and our Discovery channel DVDs (e.g., Frontier House, The Farmer's Wife; David Attenborough's Life with Birds, Meerkat Manor, The Deadliest Catch, etc.) We also have some old western collections (that include Bonanza, Gunsmoke, etc.) and comedy collections (I love lucy, Laurel & Hardy) that circulate often. We probably have an older than average population, too. One of the websites where we get some great prices is: www.dvalibrary.com They run some good categorical specials every once in awhile, so you might check them out. Good luck! --Judy Judith M. We are about to use some of our Loan Star Grant money to develop our DVD collection and we hope to buy some television series with the funds. What shows are particularly popular at your library? Mad Men is circulating well here, for example.
