You may have heard on the news that Google is planning to implement and to "test ultra-high speed broadband networks in one or more trial locations across the country". And their goal is "to experiment with new ways to help make Internet access better and faster for everyone." This project is being looked at in communities of 50,000 to 500,000. And the speed of the connection will be up to an incredible 1 Gigabit per second. Which is literally 100 times faster then what is offered normally; the cost is expected to be "competitive". Most importantly, Google wants to hear from communities that think their community should be picked for this project. They are asking persons to contact that city, county, and/or local governments and inform them to submit an RFI to Google if they would like to be considered. The response time is limited...the deadline for submission is March 26th, 2010.
