Laurie - On question number two below, the number of registered
borrowers that the libraries report in the annual report is defined as
having had records purged at least once in the past three years. The
definitions are listed in this document:

http://www.tsl.state.tx.us/ld/pubs/arsma/09ARSMA.pdf

This is near the top of page 12 of the document:

7.11 REGISTERED BORROWERS. A registered borrower is a library user who
has applied for and received an identification number or card from the
public library that has established conditions under which the user may
borrow library materials and gain access to other library resources.
(Output Measures for Public Libraries, 2nd edition). Note: Files should
have been purged within the past three (3) years.

Thanks - Chris

Please reply to the list. Thanks!

Laurie

1. Has anyone had Joe Scruggs as a performer?

2. Do you purge inactive users from your system after a certain
length of time? If so, how long do you wait before deleting them? If
not, do you just carry them forever in your count of total borrowers?

Thanks!
