Dear Friends and Good People - How wonderful to hear that May is Older Americans Month - just my kind of event ! Oscar Wilde once wrote that he wasn't "young enough to know everything." How comforting to know as one gets older. Perhaps there are some ideas below that you might want to use for your library's celebration. And please consider sending Allan Kleiman your library's plans and/or events (see below). Just remember, there are more and more of us older folks - and we vote! And be kind - Don May is Older Americans Month! 2010 Each year the Administration on Aging (AoA) issues a theme for Older Americans Month to assist our National Aging Services Network of state, tribal, area agencies on aging, and community services providers plan for activities that might take place in May or throughout the year. This year's theme "Age Strong! Live Long!" recognizes the diversity and vitality of today's older Americans who span three generations.
