Subject: RE: Schave and Reilly, Dan Gipson and Dinosaur George

We had Schave and Reilly last summer, and although I had to miss it, I
had only great reports from staff. They also loved banjo
playing/storytelling Dan Gibson. The latter surprised us a little, but
I'm always looking for something new, and reports were that he also
appealed to all ages.

Another one of our favorites is Dinosaur George. He's gotten pretty
busy, but he is doing several Austin shows that I noticed on his
website, and he'll be in Georgetown in the morning of and in Round Rock
in the afternoon of July 21. He's done a History Channel series called
Dinosaur Fight Club and makes the dinosaur program very funny and
entertaining. He brings all kinds of props, fossils, etc.

Something else that might be of interest, with this year's theme, is the
Kiddie Express Train, http://www.kiddieexpresstrain.com/, a trackless
train that is based in Austin. I saw them at the Long Center - they hire
out to come to various functions or events. I'm planning on having them
at our end of summer party.

I just wanted to let you know that we had Schave and Reilly perform at a
Classic Comedy Film Festival here at Harker Heights Public Library. They
were wonderful. We were pleasantly surprised to see that patrons of all
ages thoroughly enjoyed them. They were the feature act between
screenings of "Gold Rush," "Night at the Opera," and "The Long, Long
Trailer." Though the movies didn't bring in very many people, the live
performance did. We had a Polemon and Yu-Gi-Oh group of preteens and
teens meeting, and they wandered in to see what was going on with all
the laughter. They all ended up staying for the whole performance.

See ya,
