We have security cameras in our parking garage and on the entrances. I hope they are somewhat of a deterrent. Usually when we have tried to use them after an incident the person is not recognizable, so I wouldn't consider them fool proof. If we ever get any extra money we may put a few in the library also. We also had a convex mirror in front of the children's desk so that they could see the people behind them coming from the stairs, but we're not using it right now since we have the children's desk in another place while we complete the renovations. Finally we have a contract with a security company for a guard in the late afternoon and evening (during school holidays we have them earlier in the day).
Hope this helps! Judy Duer Library Director Temple (TX) Public Library [email protected] 100 W.
