Everybody see this? For anyone who has not been paying
attention, Gazprom is to Russia what the Morgan and Rockefeller
conglomerates put together are to the U.S.
>From the German News (daily eMail edition) of December 21, 1998:
>- Ruhrgas AG purchases shares in Russian gas monopoly
>Moscow. The German gas company, Ruhrgas AG, has purchased shares in the
>Russian gas monopoly, Gasprom. Representatives of both concerns will sign
>the contract in Moscow on Monday. Ruhrgas will pay over a billion marks
>for 2,5 percent of Gasprom shares. The company, based in Essen, is
>Gasprom's largest client. The two concerns had signed an agreement only
>in May that Gasprom will continue to supply Ruhrgas with 25 billion marks
>worth of gas until the year 2020.
Now put this together with the report in the December _Chronciles_
by Srdja Trifkovic (pages 6-7) that Germany has
decoupled its foreign policy from NATO in the Balkans in general
and Kosovo in particular:
"According to a report from Paris by Roger Faligot, published in the
European (September 21-27), Germany's role in
arming the Kosovo militants ha led to a serious rift between
the Bundesnachrichtendienst (BND), the German intelligence
service, and the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). Faligot quotes
French diplomatic sources and General Pierre-Marie
Gallois, a specialist in geopolitics, who maintains that some
decision-making circles in Germany wish to destabilize the
Serbs regardless of the consequences for regional stability:
'The Kosovo crisis has initiated a rift between Germany and
the United States. . . .' "
