* Reports say at least 20 deaths have been linked to severe
  winter storms that hit the mid-west and eastern regions
  of the U.S. this weekend.
    - the Chicago area received up to 22 inches of snow.

* President Clinton has proposed a $1,000 tax credit for families

* Reports say Elizabeth Dole, former cabinet member and wife of
