Remember, this is the company that got into trouble for shutting down the
breast cancer survivors chat areas and bulletin boards, since the members
couldn't avoid using the word 'breast', which was on AOHell's long list
of verboten words and phrases...the recipe exchange forums had a problem
discussing dishes containing chicken breasts, too...as did the forums
dedicated to prostate cancer, or any forum dedicated to discussing
medical issues involving 'those parts' of the body...
As someone who was on AOHell a couple of years ago, I know first hand
their draconian tactics in trying to surpress free speech, as well as
their intimate relationship with various spook agencies...I belonged to a
forum dedicated to alternative medicine, discussion was mostly devoted to
herbs and vitamins -- but for some reason AOHell's TOS Gods considered us
of particular interest, and constantly disrupted the forum, to the point
of actually not delivering posts...a group of us got online every Sunday
afternoon for a live, PRIVATE chatroom, and yet we were still
disrupted...it got to the point that we were able to determine a good
number of the 'keywords' which seemed to trigger an automatic capture
program, we'd actually joke about it in our Sunday afternoon chat, warn
the others that we were about to shut down the system, and then someone
would type in one of the keywords -- and sure enough, the system always
froze for a good 2 or 3 minutes after one of these words were used...
The novelty quickly wore thin, tho, as did AOHell's poor service...within
a few months we all jumped ship to find REAL ISP accounts...
