Greetings...

I am new to this group and as a consequence I will do my best to kep my
mouth shut, watch and listen until I figure out the group's focus (from
what I can see it is pretty unfocused, which is not a bad thing but it
takes lots of time to sort through all of the messages.

I am a profesional historian, archaeologist, nd geologist with more than
25 years in the fields. I got interested in this PoS busines by a
route so circuitous it would take hours to describe. I've been
reseaching Arthurian legends for maybe 7 years. And From this very
existing but neverthess peripheral subject I folllowed a path that lend
me from one seeming unrelated topic to another. What I found odd as tha
these unrelated topic were related by several curious and I dare say off
the wall things. I research the Turin Shroud, Catharism, the formation
of the early Church, the relationship of the chruch with the
Carolindians, the Dead Sea Scrolls, the Nag Hammadi documents. I was
especially interested in the First through fourth century formation of
the chuch and the realtion of Paul with the 12. I became much more
interested in what ws excluded from the New testament than what was out
in it. I also studied Sufism, Kabbalism, the Templars, and Freemasonry.
After 7 years I read Holy Blood and Holy Grail and was astonished that
by following aveues of research significantly different than my own the
authors identified at kleast a hald dozen of the same historical
coincidences I did.

A good scientist always seeks the simplist explantion and it is not
uncommon for a historian to do the same. Unfortunately, I spent most of
my life followin this tectic and during this entire time I always got
the sense that something was missing. Onecan hardly cll the history of
the past 2000 years simple. History is a fascinating subect and yes
there are times that things simply just happen. But is, in my opinion,
overlysimplistic to view 2000+ years of history and not be curious about
certain specific crucial events and then they occurred and by whom.
Time and time again, important events occur at times that are
traditionally dismissed as coincidence. The same names opo up or at
least the same families. Even before I read anything about the PoS, I
came to my own conclusion that something or someone was manipulating
history, consistently and in a way that can be traced by looking across
disciplines.

I am not much into conspiracy or crackpot theories that abound. Nor am
I a great believer in magic or the paranormal. If one bothers to
consider western history since the first century I would be astounded if
any serious student of the subject doesn't see the trends/coincidences.
Most professionals have to keep their mouths shut or rick their
repuations. I'm an indepenent consultant so I can say what's on my
mind.

I am sort of hoping that there are enough serious and thoughtful people
on this list who may have read HB/HG but arrived saw much of the
evidence independently. I am interested at this point in primary source
data as I see no point in reading more published secondary texts greeing
with HB/HG.

And that is a little about me and if no one cares I ofer my apology in
advance for wasting your time.

Roger Werner
