All it takes is for us to stand-up for our constitution and republic, not change our government, just the governors --and time marches on -- the culture is far exceeding the control boundaries of the state, we are falling into defacto semi-anarchism. I'll still take a republic over democracy, heck I'd like to go back to having the state legislatures elect the us senators. ====================================================== If you asked "the people" I'll bet 85% don't know the difference between a democracy or a republic and that same % think we have a democracy. On paper we have a republic? Yeah and on paper Hitler was not a dictator, Germany was a "democracy" with political parties and elections just like America. The Russians (I think it was Stalen) who belonged to one of the political parties in their "elective government". Those in charge of the village idiots use terms like republic and democracy to make them think they are in control of their own government. I don't have the exact quote but in one file the word republic notes that the people are the authority of the government and representatives are just public servants used to enact their will. I suppose I could get a list from one of the government watch groups and ask the American people if they wanted to support 1000 "grants" and show that 98% of the American people do not want to pay for that .... Do I want to use tax money to pay the head poet of America 300,000 a year to spout poetry? Do I want to pay for "art" in which some homosexual places a cross with a plastic upside down in a jar of piss? Do I want to pay taxes so a senator's business buddy can get an extra 22 million dollars to add to his profits? Do I want to pay to have someone tried and put in prison when politicians do the same things and go free? In your republic, who do representatives represent? * Some minority? If so which, because there are endless minorities all at odds with each other? * Do they represent the will/agenda of the politicians in which this is nothing but a dictator ship? * Do they represent the will of the majority in which case this is a republic as defined. * Do they represent the will of those who bribe them, in which case this is a political bribery form of government?
