I hate to sound "conspiratorial" but I have wondered for many years why algae are not being processed as a kind of flour (for wide scale human use) and fodder (for wide scale livestock use) especially given that the protein yields/acre even with shallow pond culture are 20-80 x those of any plant crop (like soybeans or wheat). Could you please ask the oceanographer?
