-Caveat Lector-
Subject: 021.004 How did this idea start?
I first got the idea when I saw the multi million dollar
pop companies here in Ohio, put the issue on the ballots
to drop the pop tax.
I thought ... Self, how come big groups and rich companies
can put issues on the ballot and the village idiots just
get to decide on their agendas?
* Because we don't know the correct procedures.
* Because we don't have the means to get our petitions signed.
* Because no one even thinks about these things until some
outrage pops up and by that time it is too late to get organized
and the village idiots get the shaft once again.
How this idea got where it is at the present time.
#1 I began to post in one list [CTRL]
#2 There I watched others and posted them the ideas.
#3 I don't know what lists they get, but those who have
found potential soldiers, send me e-mail addresses.
#4 I then send them 000.001 Digest
#5 "We" are people who are willing to spread the ideas and
have a dialog about them.
#6 "We" will become a group IF we can make this elephant fly.
#7 If I were a government agent, I would lie to you. Unlike the
movies, agents don't have to nor would they admit they
were agents.
#8 I only promote legal means, I welcome the fbi, cia and santa
to read every thing I write to know if I am naught or nice.
Only people who are interested in legal means are welcome to
this mickey mouse club.
#9 Sounds too good to be true?
Have you ever distributed or signed a petition?
Have you ever voted on an issue at the ballot box?
Is this legal... Is this too good to be true?
The only variable I want to throw in the works is a network
to empower the public to put their issues on the ballots.
Once on the ballots, it will be they (the people) who
* Can remove taxes.
* Create/remove laws
* Recall politicians.
When politicians know the people are pulling the strings
they will dance to a different tune...
Well, that is the general Idea. Will it work? I can only hope,
but I know at least, it is better than bitching and not at least
trying to do anything.
===============================================
Who should not like the idea of this project:
* If you have never PASSED OUT A PETITION, SIGNED A
PETITION OR VOTED ON AN ISSUE IN A VOTING BOOTH,
then you can open your mouth.
* If you think the public should remain powerless while
rich/powerful business/groups put their issues on the ballots,
then you should hate my guts.
* If you think politicians should be forced to be accountable
to the public, then sprinkle me with fairy dust.
If you know of newsletters with democracy as a theme, please
pass them along.
