People are/were hungry & miserable long before we started exceeding
Terra's carrying capacity, so that's an inappropriate criterium.
Wasn't Dan'l Boone's warning-sign the visibility of a neighbor's
woodsmoke? If you can smell'em, they're too close & thick & many.
I'm more tolerant - as long as nobody's CB interferes with my alien
implant and vice-versa, fine. And when you can't swing a chihuahua
without smacking somebody, you're overcrowded. And when all those
chihuahuas have been eaten, then there's DEFINATELY too many people.

Following up on that thought - will near-intolerable over-population
be the push necessary to actually develop mass-transport spacecraft,
just so we can export ravening hoardes off-planet? Will we need to
nearly ruin Terra, to provoke us to go galactic? "EARTH FIRST - We'll
strip-mine the other planets later!!" Something like that...

Sure, if Disney & Warners were commie studios. That's COMRADE Gyro
Gearloose to you, peasant! And Scrooge McDuck obviously symbolized the
coalition of British and Jewish bankers who control corporate finance,
while Elmer Fudd represents the seemingly-incompetent Military-Indus-
trial Complex. Yah, if the Kremlin had exploited these links properly,
Western morale would have been shattered - maybe Dan McNeill's AIR
PIRATES rendition of Mickey & Minnie Mouse 69ing was a trial balloon
for just such demoralizing propaganda. But that campaign just didn't
pan out. Well, the obvious way to subvert Iran would be to portray
the Ayatollah Khomenei as a Yosemite Sam-like buffoon, blustering and
blathering, outsmarted by Porky Pig - or maybe as Porky's lover. Yow.

But Vegas is surely as alien a construct as the Giza pyramids & the
Nazca figures, eh? Well, actually it's the best money-laundering
scheme organized crime could up with - entice suckers to part with
their cash in large amounts, mix-in the funds obtained via pushing,
pimping & purloining, and it all looks the same. Nice and neat.
