Dear editor,
Let's see if I got this right. The House of Representives is charged
with the responsibility of impeaching the President when necessary.
The Senate then holds a trial to determine whether the charges are
true or not. If both say yea, he's gone. Is that the checks and
balances the Founders gave us?
How does that square with the House impeaching the president for
committing High Crimes and Misdemeanors, and the Senate finding
him not guilty because they weren't High Crimes and Misdeamaors
afterall? They are violating the checks and balances the Founders placed
in the Constitution by assuming the House's duty on Impeachment.
And if that's not bad enough, these pompus elitists want to censure
the prez for the crimes they claim he's not guilty of. Just where is
the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court that he allows all this to
happen with nary a word in defense of the Constitution? Isn't it his
job to assure that the Constitution they all took an oath to uphold
is followed, just a little bit? They should all be impeached.
