I'm sure the knights were no different than the rest of the crew. To own a champion was quite a feather in one's cap. The main characteristic of any "bulldog" type is their tenacious grip. An occasional dog had to be killed before its jaws could be released. This makes for horrific and destructive bites, but still does not qualify as the best type of guard dog.
