Needless to say there wasn't much to see. > A third site visited was in the San Fernando Valley, adjacent to the Water > District. New buildings, armed > guards, new roads, and many hundreds of buildings for housing the damned. It's nowhere near Valencia, the area referred to is in Granada Hills. It's the Los Angeles Resevoir, terminus of the LA Aqueduct. It's also the home of the LAPD's brand-new tactical training center, an architecturally striking facility complete with a driving course and nearby helipad. On the north end is a little league park and a water treatment facility, the west end is bordered by a residential area. Surrounding the area is an 8-foot fence with 3 rows of barbed wire, angling towards the area as promised. The barbed wire was newer than the fence but has been there for years. Maybe half a dozen new buildings (not hundreds in there including the LAPD and some small outbuildings that probably contain valves or pumps for the resevoirs. The only construction in progress is where the MWD is installing pipeline in the basin floor and where the LAPD is expanding their driving course. There were no armed guards, box cars, air strips, or buildings for "housing the damned." > Another site is located in Brand Park in Glendale. We questioned the idea that there were four armed military > personnel walking the park. Since when does a public park need armed guards? > 5. GLENDALE, CALIFORNIA: Right behind Brand Park, take the 5 interstate to > Western Ave, then head north up the hill till you arrive at the park. Then > take the road -- by foot -- by the doctor's house on the northwestern part > of the park. Proceed up the hill to you reach the resevoir, which is in > fact, a holding facility. When we were there last, there were five armed > guards with M16s walking around. Well, we went up the hill a ways but stopped before the dry resevoir. Dozens and dozens of walkers and mountain bikers were going up and down so I asked one about the trails up there. He didn't know about a resevoir. A passing walker did though, said it was dry. I didn't need to ask if they'd seen any "armed guards with M16s walking around" because if they or any of the hundreds of people up there every weekend had, we wouldn't need the Internet to inform the world of their existence. Anyone who sees these areas and thinks that either one could be a new, heavily armed detention camp is a paranoid idiot (we certainly felt like two for checking it out). The LA Resevoir area is no more secure than the average fenced-off lot and both are immediately adjacent to residential areas. Nothing nefarious is going on at either one. ----- Aloha, He'Ping, Om, Shalom, Salaam. Em Hotep, Peace Be, Omnia Bona Bonis, All My Relations. Adieu, Adios, Aloha. Amen.
