WECHT FINGERS RAMSEY KILLER

(CNNS, 03/26/99) -- Famous forensic pathologist Dr. Cyril Wecht
believes that Jon Benet Ramsey's father inadvertantly killed his
daughter.
According to an article in the National Examiner ("Dad Killed Jon
Benet in Perverse Sex Ritual, 3/23/99), Wecht states that "Jon
Benet's killer took her to the basement where he proceeded to
perform a perverse, ritualistic game, strangling her with a
garrote, tightening the cord around her neck as he sexually
abused her."
According to Wecht, this strange sex had been imposed on the
young girl more than once, and was habitual.
This news service has no opinion as to whether or not Mr. Ramsey
indeed murdered his daughter.
Wecht, according to the National Examiner article, has written a
book on the case: "Who Killed Jon Benet Ramsey." Another book
on the case has also recently been published: "Perfect Murder,
Perfect Town," by Lawrence Schiller. According to reviews,
Schiller's book describes what happens "when tragedy strikes in
paradise," portraying Boulder, Colorado as "a city at war with
itself."
Wecht, based on his investigation, believes that Patsy Ramsey,
the girl's mother, aided and abetted a subsequent cover-up.
Dr. Wecht is well known as a vocal critic of the Warren
Commission investigation into the assassination of John F.
Kennedy.
The Ramsey case is deep, with troubling circumstances surrounding
it. It may become, like last century's Jack the Ripper killings,
an endless puzzle.
