-Caveat Lector- "Dry ice" is frozen carbon dioxide which is very cold and does not melt (get wet) but rather "sublimes" (evaporates directly from solid to gas) into carbon dioxide gas which in process is so cold that it causes the water vapor in the air to condense into the heavier than air "cloud like" "smoke" that you see hugging the ground in scary movies or the kind of cold "smoke" that comes out of carbon dioxide fire extinguishers. Dry ice is so cold that it will "burn" your fingers if you handle it without gloves. A recent article on cold fusion was called fire from ice. Not a bad comparative analogy, colleen.
