REPLY: Well actually the Constitution says this:
"No person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States,
at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution. shall be eligible to the
Office of President; neither shall any person be eligible to that Office who
shall not have attained to the Age of thirty-five Years, and been fourteen
Years a Resident within the United States."
A natural born Citizen is a National citizen, born in one of the 'Several
States'. A Citizen of the United States is a 14th amendment Citizen, or a
Citizen born in the "United States" (Washington, D.C., American Somoa,
Puerto Rico...Its forts, arsenals and necessary buildings).
As to the 14 year residency requirement, no definition of the term 'United
States' is issued.
