That was an insightful insert. Yes, Asimov was stating ultimate belief in
the human ego, in particular his own. "Vanity of vanity; all is vanity".
Rev. Kev can tell us chapter and verse. He can also tell us the "bottom
line" of that Book (Ecc.) which is "serve God". All of CT (Christianity
Today) pays lip service to that conclusion. Ask the Biblethumpers of NOW
TV to tell us what a complete society/culture/nation/whatever would be
like if it were in service to God. Ask the Christian Heritage Party which
flies the banner of the Canadian Constitution, ie "Whereas Canada is
founded upon principles that recognize the supremacy of God" and they flee
like cockroaches when the light is turned on. So CT stands for
Christianity Today or Cockroaches Today (take your pick). But when fund
raising time comes you can bet your boots that the CT's of CHP on the
Surrey School Board will be telling everyone that a Godly and Biblical
Society is what they have gallantly stood for. However, the Supreme CT of
CHP, Ron Gray, emailed on August 25/02 to say, "We cannot know what a
biblical society would be like". See what I mean about CT? Doug Kooy,
Poobah of NOW TV chided me for being too critical and this Supreme CT who
plays mind games aplenty said, "I also do not play mind games" (Oct 8/02).
Critical? Hmmm? How does hell reckon into that, hell being mentioned twice
as often as heaven in the Gospels. Hell is a very critical place.
And the Book of Revelation tells us that liars and cowards have no place
in heaven. But St. John was too critical, right Doug?
So that is why I would like to see Ingram interviewing on NOW TV. Some
good, honest interviewing on how one's
ideologies/beliefs/religion/faith/whatever fits into public life and
practice for various public figures. Ingram hasn't mentioned it of course
but does anyone want to second my proposal and I will pass it on to the
powers that be in NOW TV? Hey, maybe I can be the first guest on
INGRAM-NOW. I would like to talk about "Hell and CT", "Robopope" and all
sorts of other politically correct "good stuff".

We both want to substitute mindless programs for mindless preaching and CT
teaching? Or does the evolving new species, robo sapiens, have a destiny
to be a higher consciousness than homo sapiens? I'd like to have my INGRAM
NOW interview preceded by a 2 minute rock video clip called "Points of
Authority" by Lincoln Park. Anybody see it? It BLASTS the senses with
the sights and sounds of a future in which robo sapiens is the dominant
species and homo sapiens are kept around as heads on life support systems.
Sort of "pets for the robots". Far fetched? Not at all. The
surgeon-researcher Dr. White commented in Scientific American that his
experiments on life support for detached monkey heads was proceeding well
and he expected to be successful with homo saps monkey heads in a decade.
That article is now several years old. BTW, I also read a Vatican ethics
commentary on the work of Dr. White and while the Vaticanites object to
Raelian cloning, they do not object to monkey brains on a stick...perhaps
they see this as their own future.
I know that

Well, this is kind of semantics. Call it belief, ideology, religion,
whatever. Whatever...robots can do it better. They will flawlessly spew
the pious platitudes, metaphysical mumbo jumbo, lame liturgy and canned
catechism we find on Now TV, now. Time to bring in INGRAM, stage left, I
say! Second the motion?

IMHO this is debatable but Mr. Kawamoto may offer us another opinion
as he knows more Buddhism than me. Perhaps my position on this is more
Taoist. Quoting from "The Judgement" in "The Tibetan Book of the Dead" we
read, "The body being a mental body is incapable of dying....In reality
thy body is of the nature of voidness; thou needst not be afraid...."
OTOH, if there is no mind/consciousness/sentience/awareness outside the
physical/material then we have a "monist-materialist" metaphysical
philosophy. Is that Buddhism? If so, a Buddhist could as well be a
contender to serve as programmer of Robopope "when the smoke goes up the
chimney". That was the little cosological chuckle I passed on to Mr.
Kawamoto.

In August, 2001, the popular Ingram show was cancelled, suddenly and without
explanation. It was the only televised challenge to the social-political establishment
of BC. Why did this happen? What can be done to remedy this assault against our
by-Constituti
n "democratic society"?
