Whilst I initially respond to Mr
Gottfried on the 'Conspiracy-Theory' forum, this is not intended as a
'religious' post as such.
Initially, I believe Mr Gottfried
mistakes what is the idyllic milieu of "Christianity" in the New Testament,
for its baptised pagan counterpart. NT Christianity sought to re-invigorate
the world with the knowledge of god and the teachings of the Torah. They
perceived Jesus as the living proof and embodiment of the Torah.
"And beginning at Moses and all the
prophets, he (Jesus) expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things
concerning himself." Luke 24:27
"For verily I say
unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise
pass from the law, till all be fulfilled." Matthew 5:18
"And
it is easier for heaven and earth to pass, than one tittle of the law to
fail". Luke 16:17
In the Gospels, the word "law"
generally refers to the Mosaic law or the entire Old Testament.
The dynasty of the pagan popes is the
succession of pagan Rome's Caesars. Popery has nothing to do with
Christianity, rather it is it destroyer. They even murdered English bible
translators.
The conspiracy lies in the fact that a political system
of Caesarism masquerades as a religion and has its foot in the door in every
democracy to undermine its democratic institutions with its own social and
globalist agenda. Catholicism, after all means universalism or its modern
equivalent: GLOBALISM.
Mr Gottfried's interpretations below of,
"beast (pope) and his idol (jesus) (sic)" are quite incorrect and
show a logic diminished of the meaning of the word.
It is preposterous
how one could possibly take terms out of book which claims Jesus is its
messiah to mean idol and the term beast being unequivocally used as a
symbolical word to mean a kingdom or nation and wretch them so far astride
from their contextual meaning. This would suggest that Mr Gottfried is perhaps
more a sophist rather than the seed of a Hebrew sage as he
purports.
The totalitarian political system of the Vatican is well
demonstrated in works such as, "Communism, Democracy and Catholic Power"
by Paul Blanshard. The work outlines the vast similarities between the
totalitarianism of the Catholic power and Communism. Right down to minute
ritualism of 'embalming' their respected 'popes'.
Like the totalitarian
voice of any fascist or communist regime the papacy declares, "The church
may by Divine right confiscate the property of heretics, imprison their
persons, and condemn them to the flames." -Vatican II
Blanchard's
work was written circa 1951 and it contended then that the major forces that
were struggling for world hegemony were Catholicism, Communism and
Capitalism.
Years later, the Jesuit author, Malachi Martin reached the
same conclusion with his book, "Keys of This Blood", where Martin
states that the world is now certain to move into world government. The only
question is, who will rule this New World Order. He says there are only three
geopolitical forces with the necessary structure and power base to rule the
world, Catholicism, Communism, and Capitalism. He believed the '90s would
determine the victor.
Martin of course played the now very
stereo-typical part of the 'rogue' Jesuit disseminating insider information,
whilst he maintained the mythic notion that gods citadel, the Vatican,
remained mans last best hope for a blessed future. The same role game was
played by another 'rogue' Jesuit, Adam Weishaupt of the fabled Bavarian
Illuminati to stir up paranoid fear about 'anti-god' forces out to destroy
Christianity in an endeavour to unify religionists into a common global force
against the manufactured anti-god mob.
They eventually succeeded after
which they dismantled the 'godless Jew commies' to create the new
fear, Islam and terrorism. The latter, whilst serving a variety of agendas, is
also the millennial crusade of the papacy to convert or conquer the infidels
of Islam. Today, the Religious Right (note recent inflammatory comments by
American Evangelical-Zionists Falwell, Graham Jnr and et al), are the
popes vociferous front-men allies and fall-guys, or perhaps fool-guys might be
more appropriate.
Of course, both the aforesaid mentioned authors
failed to see, or comment substantively on the influence of American
Evangelicalism and the Religious Right with their nightmarish apocalyptic
visions and end-time paranoia linked with a pseudo pro-Zionist agenda on
American foreign policy.
The influence on modern Zionism has tendrils
linked to "Christian"-Zionism. The most powerful roots of Zionism do not
appear to be in "Judaism" or of the Jewish people per se. Many of the latter
who themselves are opposed to the idea of a political state of Israel. It's
neo-modern tendrils appear to emanate from 'Christian Zionists'.
At its
simplest, Christian Zionism has been defined as 'Christian support for
Zionism'. In Der Judenstaat, published in 1896, Theodor Herzl forcefully
articulated the aspirations of Jewish Zionists for their own homeland.
That said, the Zionist dream does largely appear to have been
nurtured and shaped by Christian Zionists long before it was able to inspire
widespread Jewish support, say in the 1940's.
At the First Zionist
Congress which Herzl convened a year later in Basle, the Zionist aspiration
was formulated in a call for a, 'publicly secured and legally assured homeland
for the Jews in Palestine.'
At the 27th Zionist Congress held in
Jerusalem in 1968, Zionism was defined in terms of five principles:
1) the unity of the Jewish people
and the centrality of Israel in Jewish life; 2) the in-gathering of the
Jewish people in its historic homeland, Eretz Israel; 3) the strengthening
of the State of Israel; 4) the preservation of the identity of the Jewish
people; and 5) the protection of Jewish rights.
Regina Sharif, "Non-Jewish Zionism, Its
Roots in Western History" follows the notion that political Zionism is
'...the ideological instrument for mobilizing international support for an
exclusively Jewish state in Palestine.' She observes how in 1975, the
United Nations General Assembly passed resolution 3379 (XXX) defining Zionism
as, 'a form of racism and racial discrimination.'
It was no longer politically correct to
view Zionism as merely another national liberation movement, in this case for
Jews. Uri Davis has written probably the most critical book on the realisation
of the Zionist goal, entitled, Israel, an Apartheid State. Contemporary
Christian Zionism is in part a reaction to this world-wide criticism.
Thus, in 1967 for example, following
the passing of U.N. Resolution 242 in protest at Israel's occupation of the
West Bank, and Palestinian Jerusalem, when the entire international community
closed their embassy's in Jerusalem, the International Christian Embassy moved
to Jerusalem expressly to show solidarity with Israel.
They and other Christian Zionists
believe that the modern State of Israel, and Zionism in general, are divinely
mandated, the fulfilment of God's promise to Abraham. "I will bless those
who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth
will be blessed through you." (Genesis 12:3)
Thus, in 'The Road to Holocaust,"
writers like Hal Lindsey could assert, 'The center of the entire prophetic
forecast is the State of Israel." (New York, Bantam, 1989).
Lindsey goes on to accuse
those who oppose his brand of apocalyptic dispensationalism of anti-Semitism,
'...the same error that founded the legacy of contempt for the Jews and
ultimately led to the Holocaust of Nazi Germany.' (back page).
Christian Zionists see themselves as defenders of, and
apologists for, the Jewish people, and in particular, the State of Israel.
This support involves opposing those deemed to be critical of, or hostile
toward Israel. It is rare therefore to find Christian Zionists who feel a
similar solidarity with the Palestinians.
From the religious perspective, the
idea of the 'City of Zion' appears throughout the Christian era. Augustine's
famous the 'City of God' enunciates the idyllic philosophy, the notion of the
heavenly city of god mirrored on earth by man, awaiting the vision in the book
of Revelation of the appearance of the final Heavenly or the New Jerusalem
established literally on earth.
The part played by Jerusalem in
contemporary global urbanization, together with her traditional symbolic role,
and the disproportionate scale of the Arab-Israeli conflict in world politics
all make Jerusalem an important world city and a major focus of world thought.
It may be arguable that the current
happenings in the concrete worldly Jerusalem can be best understood in light
of the influence of the corresponding mythical city and its attendant
mythos.
A little appreciated and known fact
circa the Reformation era, the Roman Catholic Jesuit authors began a literary
war against the Reformation to promote the idea of the person of "antichrist"
being Jewish and arising in Jerusalem. Antichrist is the alleged epitomic
end-time figure who wages war against god, Christ and the church.
In 1590, the Catholic Jesuit Francisco
Ribera published a commentary on the book of Revelation as a
counter-interpretation to the prevailing view among Protestants which
identified the Papacy with the Antichrist.
From its earliest chapters, the Jesuit
Ribera applied the Revelation to the end time rather than to the history of
the Church. The figure of Antichrist would be ".. a single evil
person who would be received by the Jews and
would rebuild Jerusalem". -- (cf George Eldon Ladd, The
Blessed Hope: A Biblical Study of the Second Advent and the Rapture).
The discovery of printing and revival
of learning accelerated the both the Reformation and the papacies war against
it. Ladd goes on to say:
“Ribera denied the Protestant
Scriptural Antichrist (2 Thessalonians 2) as seated in the church of
God—asserted by Augustine, Jerome, Luther and many reformers. He set on an
infidel Antichrist, outside the church of God.” and “The result of his work
[Ribera’s] was a twisting and maligning of prophetic
truth.”
After Francisco Ribera came another
Jesuit author, Cardinal Robert Bellarmine (1542-1621) of Rome. Between 1581
and 1593, Cardinal Bellarmine published his “Polemic Lectures Concerning the
Disputed Points of the Christian Belief Against the Heretics of This Time.” In
these lectures, he agreed with Ribera.
"The futurist teachings of Ribera
were further popularized by an Italian cardinal and the most renowned of all
Jesuit controversialists. His writings claimed that Paul, Daniel, and John
had nothing whatsoever to say about the Papal power. The futurists’ school
won general acceptance among Catholics. They were taught that Antichrist was
a single individual who would not rule until the very end of time.”

Through a series of human channels, the
Jesuit dogma of Futurism, made its way into various Protestant sects and
infiltrated their denominations and thinking.
The Jesuits had turned the Protestant focus away from
the papacy as the system of antichrist, back to the papacies millennial
enemies and "Christ-killers," a Jew and Jerusalem as his throne of apocalyptic
evil. Of course, Jews and Protestants were long held as co-arch-heretics by
the papacy. Jews were accused of abetting Protestantism and Pope Pius IV
confined them strictly to ghettos in Rome. He badged Jews by forcing them to
wear distinctive headgear.
Inevitably, by 1970, the highly influential and multimillion
bestseller 'The Late Great Planet Earth,' by Hal Lindsey came to present a
standard model said to be based on his studies at an avowedly Protestant
institution, the Dallas Theological Seminary.
Lindsey also held as a primary focus the "Secret Rapture" tenet, another
Jesuit invention, this was basically the same model employed by the ongoing
best selling series of novels: The Left Behind series:
1. rise of New Roman Empire as European Common Market, before
1988;
2. the establishment a world governing body led by
Antichrist;
3. Antichrist sides with world government and Israel against
Russia;
4. Antichrist dies of head wound, but miraculously
recovers;
5. Antichrist is worshipped as a god;
6. 666 tattoo on
forehead or palm established as economic mark of European Common
Market;
7. rebuilding of Temple in Jerusalem;
8. Arab, other African
states, and the Soviet Union attack Israel;
9. Antichrist destroys Soviet
Alliance with a nuclear attack;
10. China attacks forces of
Antichrist;
11. one third of world destroyed by nuclear weapons;
12.
Christ returns to protect faithful, "secret Rapture;"
13. mass conversion
of Jews;
14. Armageddon;
15. establishment of "atomic material"
paradise for a 1000 years;
16. resurgence of Antichrist put down by
Christ;
17. return of "faithful to heaven with Christ."
Lindsey's shambled prophetic predications
have not prevented Christian ministries and movies like A Thief in the
Night, Apocalypse, Revelation, Tribulation, and Left Behind, and their
proclaiming an Antichrist who comes only after the "Secret
Rapture" of the saints.
Many in the conspiracy consumer market have
proffered various theories for the "Secret Rapture" schema of the
Fundamentalists and Christian Zionists. Of these, has been the notion that it
would be used as a pretext for the disappearance of political dissenters and
alleged enemies of the State.
Whilst some commentators pronounced the mass
popularity of Hal Lindsey et al as an indication of the twilight of the
American intellect, the style of this paranoid dynamic of apocalyptic thought
presents itself starkly: the end is always near--but never quite
here.
In conclusion, it could be argued that the
re-emergence of the political state of Israel is one that is manufactured at
least partly if not considerably from the apocalyptic end-times scenarios
which originated in the Jesuit schools of prophetic-propaganda against the
Reformation.
Whilst there remained Jews who sought a
Jewish homeland, the State if Israel could not have come into existence
without the political power and machinations of the 'Christian'-Zionist
West.
Since some of these forums have frequent pro
and con commentaries about "Zionism," and et al, I assume that the regular
contributors of such posts might feel they are more expert on the subject than
myself. I would thus like to elicit any intelligent and informative comments
on the matter.
