Taking Hussein's prestige and toys away from
him (to include the oil tangentally) is one way of getting back at all those
times soiled shoe soles have tread upon the Daddy of the Great Leader.
This remains proof that Hussein didn't lose.
Just to be sure that Dubya isn't after the oil, I think that Saddam should decide to make a gift of Iraq to Israel. He could then go into exile, perhaps in Morocco. Israel could use the oil, and I have an idea that they would certainly increase the price to all of Dubya's friends. After all, Israel is dependent on others for oil, and they certainly know how to deal with Moslems. They'll take care of the Iraqi civilians, good and bad, quick as a wink. The gifting of a country to others has precedents to say the least. After all, England gave Palestine to the Israeli and England gave Kuwait to the Kuwaiti royal family.
