Ole Willie Safire is a notorious, card carrying 'Israel Firster'. He is convinced (wrongly in my opinion) that colonizing Iraq will be 'good for Israel.' Sure many nations have supplied Iraq with weapons - 3/4's of the world is full of weapons - half the countries have germ and chemical weapons - dozens have nukes or could build them quickly. Interesting that Safire does not mention the over 300 nukes that Israel has acquired in violation of US law....nor does he discuss the fact the Reagan and Bush the First 'loaned' billions to Iraq and American corps sent him the material to manufacture biological and chemical AND nuclear weapons.
