I seldom watch television, preferring greatly instead to read and obtain my news from the internet. We do not even have a cable television connection, although we live in a very remote area where we can receive only one educational channel through the air. But when my mother called me and said that the kids and I really should come to her house and watch the coverage of the bombing of Baghdad, I decided to take her up on it.
As I watched, I could at one point see the lights from three planes as they flew in over the city. Then beneath them, long, tall shafts of smoke shot straight up high into the air, and finally rolled out at the top like perfect mushrooms. I watched in shocked disbelief as whole rows of perfect mushroom clouds played out on the screen in front of me. These did not look anything like the footage that I had watched of the MOAB bomb in Florida, but instead looked just like hydrogen bombs, except much thinner. I saw one much larger explosion, lower and much broader than the others, which was still a perfect mushroom, and looked like a miniature version of any H-bomb I have seen.
The commentator on CNN referred to these as "mushroom clouds" and did not even give it any pause. Later, we were told that our government was going to call today "A-Day" for "air attack". Immediately, one of my kids said "A for atom!"
When I was young, we always called atomic weapons "A-bombs". These people who came up with this name for the day are likely as old as I am, and surely have used the same terminology that I did. Today is "A-Day".
I can just imagine that these people are now sitting around and smirking about the big snow job they are pulling on the dumb public. Pretty soon, we will be hearing about mysteriously high levels of radioactive materials in the urine of the people of Baghdad. There may even be a few cases of "Ebola" if anyone who was close enough to the goverment compound where the bombs were dropped is still living. And the people who laugh are planning to use these precision weapons to eventually bring the whole world under their control.
I must admit that NONE of the still pictures I have seen of these bombs show the clear mushroom shape; neither do the quick, one-second cuts of the scene which I saw on the news broadcast. I must assume that these pictures show the later views of these clouds, after the mushroom shapes started to break up. But I was able to watch the longer, more comprehensive video of these bombs over and over again, always with the same impression.
Could anyone tell me if it is possible for a conventional weapon to create enough thermal updraft to present a clear mushroom shape? I hope that you will try to find a way to view some comprehensive footage of the air attack yourself.

When I first saw those mushroom clouds it occurred to me that the USAF might be testing one of those tactical nukes that they have been asking for but congress supposedly balked at. I remember seeing mention of some ground penetrating nuclear bomb that is designed to burrow into the earth and then detonate. Think about this:
1. Bush is running one of the most criminal and secretive regimes that this country has ever seen.
2. They make a big deal out of that MOAB bomb they tested in FL to supposedly put fear into the hearts of the Iraqis.
3. The MOAB is really a smokescreen for the real weapons they wanted to test out, the earth penetrating tactical nukes.
4. These tactical nukes use a very small amount of fissile material, just enough to penetrate into and demolish the subterranian section of Saddam's palaces and then we see these tell tale mushroom clouds rising from the palaces.
5. They mention on the news that they were frantically digging at the site of one of the palaces that was bombed.
6. They say Saddam may have been wounded and was spotted in an ambulance.
7. They are also using depleted uranium weapons in Iraq that is nothing more than a "dirty bomb" that spews radioactive material everywhere so what difference does it make to the chickenhawks to up the ante and test out some real small nukes.
8. The U.S. is the first and only country in the world to ever have used nuclear weapons in history on an enemy.
9. Too many meaningful coincidences for this to be just another conventional weapon that leaves a similar signature mushroom cloud.
Watching this attack on a defenseless nation with possible nuclear weapons now is sickening. Will these war criminals stop at nothing?

Yep, I hear ya and know EXACTLY what you mean. They say they have 500 journalists 'embedded' with state of the art technology to capture all this on camera, front row seats, 24hrs. a day, AND IM STILL WAITING FOR THEM TO SHOW SOEMTHING!. They have a stationary camera a couple miles from anything in baghdad and THATS ALL THERE SHOWING!. did they show you any battle footage from west or south when they took the oil fields? NO! Are they showing you any footage of whats going on in BAZRA? NO!. Are you seeing any of the inside fighting inside or the perimetere of Baghdad? NO!. All there giving you is "TROOP PROPAGANDA",interviews with "the boys" on how they feel and what there doing TO KEEP YOU ALL WORRIED BOUT THEM!. When the truth is, there having a "GREAT SLAUGHTER", a good ole 'whoop ass' yahoo as bits and pieces of Arabs are blasted to the four winds!. like shooting fish in a barrel and there NOT showing you anything with "the fish" in the picture!
