This just in from Reuters: rewarding the Moonies for giving his father money, President Bush has nominated Josette Shiner, a former managing editor of the Washington Times, to the post of deputy U.S. trade representative.
Shiner has been a member of the Unification Church since 1975. From True Parents.org:

This is the second person appointed by Bush who worships convicted tax felon and fraud artist Sun Myung Moon. The first was David Capara, tapped to lead Americorps earlier this year.
Maybe you didn't hear me. Bush has now given $450,000 to the Moonies to teach your middle-schooler about sex. And he has appointed not one, but two Moonies to public office. Moonies. Those glassy-eyed people in the white robes that you dimly remember from investigative TV reports of the '70s. The ones who you were afraid would convince your naive teenage daughter to cut ties with your family and spend 12 hours a day selling flowers for a cult. The ones who believe Jesus was outbid in the auction for saving the world, the winning bidder being an old man given to long speeches comparing sexual organs to serpents, and gays to "dung-eating dogs." The ones who follow a man who regularly appoints himself King of the Spirit World at bizarre ceremonies, has been blasted for his psychological abuse by Congressional investigations, and has declared, "we must have an automatic theocracy to rule the world," and that "the separation between religion and politics is what Satan likes most." He has also blamed the Holocaust on the Jews.
Are you okay with that?
Oh, and Shiner is the former head of William Bennett's "Empower America."
